Almost time!
2 more days to go till roll-out for our Arkansas run! We roll out Friday morning, ride to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, ride the Ozarks Sat. and Sun. and ride home Monday. Otherwise known as a JFR(Just Fuckin' Ride) run. JFR is nothing more than some friends that try to get together for a guys run once a year. In '10 we did the 1st one which ended up being 3 idiots on sportsters riding to Sturgis and back in 3 days, in '11 life happened and we couldn't put one together, this year it's gonna happen! 4 of us are going from here, I'm riding my '06 sporty, another friend is riding his '02 sporty, I'm letting a long time friend(more like kid brother, lol!)ride my drifter, his dad is riding his Crossbones, there's also a 5th meeting us in Eureka Springs Friday evening. 4 days of wind and beer with a couple of my brothers, I can't wait!

Loss of a friend....
I know I've been slacking on updating and I wish it was under better circumstances. I found out today that my former boss and friend, Dave Smerchek, passed away. He had a heart attack while riding his bicycle this morning. Dave was the owner of Titan Trailers and gave me a chance when no one else would. I spent 5 years working for him developing a love for fabricating and welding and another 15 staying in touch with him through business and just in general. He was one of the few genuinely good people, took good care of his employees, was very involved in trying to help our dwindling rural community and would always take time to just shoot the shit if you ran into him. The world is lesser without him. R.I.P. Dave.

vacation '12, part 9
Time to head to Kansas City! We woke to a steady rain, but with the forecast calling for clearing conditions to the north, we loaded up and rolled out anyway!
The only downside to the vacation was me getting sick in KC. We had dinner and drinks at Grinders and that night I got sick, spent the next 3 days in bed at Jimmy and Paige's apartment. I owe them a weekend, lol! All in all it was a great vacation, 2300 miles on 2 wheels and priceless time spent with our family.
Yes, this is the end, lol!
23 north out of E.S. is a cool ride too, even in the rain!
it flattens out quick in Mo.
It looked like we were going to see more rain, but it never happened.
Our future daughter-in-law, Paige, welcomes us to K.C
Paige is due at the end of August, we are so excited for our 1st grand-daughter!
Hangin out at Grinders in KC with Jimmy and Paige
Paige and my wife decided to take a picture of each other at the same time, lol!

Vacation '12, pt 8
I love riding in the Ozarks!! Arkansas is one of my favorite places to ride, bar none. This time we rode highway 23, the Pig Trail, from Ozark, Ar into Eureka Springs, Ar. It's an absolutely gorgeous ride.
Eureka Springs, Ar is without a doubt one of my favorite locations. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, plenty of twisty roads to be explored, high quality, well maintained roads at that! One can base out of E.S. and spend days exploring the Ozarks. Lodging rates are very reasonable. We stayed at Riders Rest, a biker only motel, each room is motorcycle themed, we had the Indian Larry room. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and there's an outdoor BYOB bar complete with fire pit right on the property. The managers are super nice folks that understand bikers and one of the cool things about a biker only motel is the cool folks you meet. We'll definitely be going back!
