I stopped over 15 years ago by playing a head game with myself. I told myself that if I wanted a cig later I would have one. When later came and I was busy I merely repeated the same promise. This went on throughout the day and on into the next. Surprisingly the days turned into weeks. Sometimes telling yourself that you ‘can’t smoke’ puts more pressure on you 'to smoke.'
